What is CRC?
Introduced in April 2010 the CRC is a mandatory energy efficiency scheme developed to reduce carbon emissions from non-energy intensive industries. It is aimed to include organisations whose activities are not covered by the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) or Climate Change Agreements (CCA).
Why is it needed?
It is designed to meet the Government’s Climate Change Act 2008 targets of at least 80% cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and reductions in CO2 emissions of at least 26% by 2020, against a 1990 baseline.

ABS' Approach
ABS' approach to regulation compliance is to go beyond the regulatory checklist. We aim to help clients stay ahead of the game by identifying and recommending solutions focused on continuous improvement that not only provide compliance with current legislation .
As the Graph below illustrates, our CRC management plan is organised in 2 stages:
Stage A - CRC Preparation and Registration (Summer 2010- March 2011)
Stage B - CRC ongoing Annual Support & Carbon Reduction programme
